Revenue has grown by 14 per cent, at a constant exchange rate, to EUR 747.5M (USD 966M), compared to the same period in 2011. The only dip has been in the rail freight trains, with six per cent fewer people going through the tunnel in the January-September period.
"This summer, on the back of a dynamic first half year, Eurotunnel again set new traffic records. Our flexibility enabled us to provide
an excellent quality of service and to attract new customers away from the airlines," said Jacques Gounon, chairman and CEO of Groupe Eurotunnel. "We are confident in our activity levels for the end of the year, whilst always remaining vigilant due to the nature of the current economic environment."
