Tube Lines, the company responsible for the upgrade of the Jubilee, Northern and Picadilly lines, announced this week that it had completed upgrades to three stations. Hatton Cross, Colliers Wood and Tooting Bec are the latest three out of 88 to have been upgraded since works began in 2003. Work is well advanced on completing the eight remaining stations by June of this year.
Tube Lines delivery manager for stations Keith Sibley said, “This is another great result for passengers and momentum is really starting to build now as we make the final push for the finish.” He continued, “Over the last seven years we’ve become remarkably adept at developing new ways of working, building on lessons learnt, and making good use of all available access time. [This] has enabled us to upgrade stations faster and more cost effectively, thereby minimising disruption and cost to Londoners.”
