A new documentary chronicling the construction of London’s Thames Tideway is now available on Amazon.

“Beneath Your Feet – The Thames Tideway Tunnel Story”, producedby In The Dark Productions (ITD), offers a behind-the-scenes insight into the super sewer, which became fully operational in February this year.

Filmed over the past eight years, and with access to the project’s archive and executive team, the film tells the story of the construction of Tideway – the massive infrastructure scheme built beneath the capital to clean up the River Thames.

It covers project and engineering milestones, such as the moment the TBM passed under Tower Bridge.

ITD director Endaf Jones said it was a privilege to see the construction of Tideway up close.

“This is not just a film about concrete and tunnelling – it’s about the people behind the project. It’s about the challenges they were forced to overcome, the problems they solved, and their reflections on delivering a mega-project in one of the world’s most vibrant cities,” he said.

The production company was allowed editorial independence in producing the film. With full creative freedom, the film makers shine a light on the moments that shaped the project – from critical engineering challenges to the human stories of those who built it.

Featuring candid interviews with frontline workers, engineers, and leaders – including Tideway CEO Andy Mitchell – Beneath Your Feetgives an insight into what it means to take on a project of unprecedented scale, under the streets of one of the world’s busiest cities.

Beneath Your Feet – The Thames Tideway Tunnel Storyis available to rent and buy on Amazon Prime Video, with a portion of the proceeds going to river-based London charities.
