The general manager of strategic projects at Asir municipality, Khalid Al-Mefarrej, said the main lanes have been completed and work is under way in the service lanes.
Work is expected to be completed during the coming few months.
He said that there would a roundabout on top of the Al-Mahalah tunnel to ease traffic on King Fahd Road.
There will also be another roundabout under the Al-Muwazafeen bridge to facilitate traffic entering and exiting the neighborhood.
The Al-Mahalah tunnel, which cost SR108 million, will help in easing traffic congestion on King Fahd Road. The Al-Muwazafeen bridge is 700 meters long and cost SR103 million.
