Amberg Engineering recently restructured its business to run operations from a central headquarters in Regensdorf, Switzerland.

The hitherto three legally independent Swiss joint-stock companies in Sargans, Chur and Regensdorf, merged “in order to react more quickly to the demands of the international market,” according to a statement released by the board of directors.

The offices in Sargans and Chur will remain in operation as branch offices, while Amberg Engineering Brno a.s. in Brno, Czech Republic, will continue as an independent subsidiary. The new divisions that will run through all offices of the company are: tunnelling, tunnel refurbishment, geotechnics, and project management and consulting.

The new management board now consists of Alex Sala as CEO, assisted by Michael Rehbock-Sander and Stefan Hosang. Felix Amberg sits as president.

Amberg was recently involved in consultancy work on the Gotthard Tunnel, Switzerland. Other projects include the 500m long twin-tube highway tunnel of the Prague Radial, and numerous road and rail tunnels in the Shaanxi Province of Northwest China.
