Bids were due in last month for the construction of a 1.2km long, 2.59m diameter cable tunnel in central London. The TBM driven tunnel will be constructed on behalf of the utilities company 24seven, between Bankside Main Substation, and Farringdon Street. The final design will be negotiated with the successful contractor, which will be announced at the beginning of April 2003.
