CNH Global, the company formed by the merger of Case and New Holland, has received approval from the European Commission for the sale of its Fermec construction equipment business to EarthForce Holdings nv.
Fermec produces backhoe loaders, industrial tractors and Kobelco designed mini excavators from its Manchester factory.
Under the deal EarthForce will acquire the factory and the Fermec backhoe loader and industrial tractor lines. It will continue to market Fermec products through the existing dealer network in Europe, North America, Latin America and Australia. EarthForce will also continue to produce the Kobelco designed, Case badged mini excavators at Manchester.
The sale of the Fermec subsidiary was a condition imposed by the EU and the US Department of Justice when they approved the merger of Case Corporation and New Holland.
EarthForce, a relative newcomer to the plant industry, produces a line of light equipment which is manufactured in the Czech Republic.
