Draft tender documents have been prepared by Invias, Colombia’s national highway authority, for a US$195M project to construct a 4km tunnel and widen a 121km highway under a 13 year build and operate concession. The government hopes to award the franchise to operate the highway between Girardot and Bosa by the end of December. The project is part of improvements on the Bogota to Buenaventura highway. The Colombian government is expected to advance nearly US$18M to help cover the cost of the project.
