The German-based construction group, Hochtief, recently announced an 80% increase in net income to US$47.4M, setting itself apart from the reported negative trend in the German construction market. “Our corporate strategy, aligned to profitable growth, is bearing fruit,” Dr Hans-Peter Keitel, Hochtief Chairman, said. Hochtief’s subsidiaries in the US and Australia – Turner and Leighton respectively – were singled out for praise, signalling an international trend that looks set to continue. “We will fortify our international orientation and further extend our worldwide network,” Keitel said.
