TBM erection was under way as T&T International went to press, with tunnelling scheduled to begin at the end of this month on the Yuncan Hydro project in Peru. The $304m scheme involves 26km of tunnel, to be constructed using a combination of two TBMs and drill+blast. Construction is being performed by a JV led by Swedish contractor Skanska International Civil Engineering.
