Austrian tunnelling contractor, Jaeger Bau, has won a US$161.8M contract to build the 63.5km long Kerman water supply tunnel in Iran. The project was awarded in JV with other partners. Jaeger Bau will use two 4.04m diameter double shield TBMs to build the tunnel, which is to be completed in 2008. Bank Austria Creditanstalt has already extended a US$133M loan to Iranian Bank Tejarat to help finance the scheme.
