The San Diego Water Authority is seeking statements of qualification by 25 August for the $35M Lake Hodges to Olivenhain Pipeline that includes 1.77km of 3m diameter pressure tunnel.

The scope also calls for a 3.66m diameter low pressure stub tunnel and a 3m diameter shaft that will be either 46m or 183m deep depending on the selected profile.

The tunnel is anticipated to have unlined, steel lined and concrete lined sections. Ground conditions along the planned alignment are currently undergoing evaluation, but are expected to include intrusive hard rock of varying weathering and composition.

The contract will include design and construction, with design scheduled for the period March to June 2005 and construction commencing in July 2005 for completion by September 2007.
