A feasibility study is being carried out into plans to extend Seoul’s metro line 9 to Incheon international airport. The project is currently being discussed by South Korea’s construction and transportation ministry, Seoul city government and Korean National Railways. The 38km long line 9 is currently being built in two stages. The US$21M Phase 1, will link Kimpo via Yeouido to Bangpo when it becomes operational in 2007. Phase 2, worth a further US$14M, will complete the line to Bangi-dong in southern Seoul.
