Swedish contractor, Peab has won the contract to build an intermediate storage facility for spent nuclear fuel at the Oskarshamn plant The plant on the Simpevarp peninsula, stores spent fuel and core components from Sweden’s nuclear power stations for eventual encapsulation and controlled deposition. Peab’s assignment is to line the rock cavern recently constructed by Skanska and construct basins as well as a canal and a tunnel.The contract is worth SEK 180M ($18M).
