The procurement process for the construction of Norway’s Stad Ship Tunnel has moved a step forward with the receipt of the first bids from the contractors.

All three prequalified bidders had submitted their offers by the June 10 deadline. They are the joint venture of Skanska Norge AS and Vassbakk & Stol AS (Norway); AF Gruppen Norge AS (Norway); and Eiffage Génie Civil (France).

“Due to competition considerations, we cannot disclose details about prices or other sensitive information. The submitted bids will now be evaluated according to the rules, requirements, and criteria that apply to the tender process. We will provide further information about the next steps once this evaluation has been completed,” said Norwegian Coastal Administration (NCA) director-general Einar Vik Arset.

Providing the bids are within the approved cost framework, the NCA plans to sign the contract in autumn this year and for construction to start next year.
