VINCI Construction has strengthened its presence in the North American tunnelling market with the acquisition of Bradshaw Construction by its subsidiary Soletanche Bachy.
Bradshaw is a leading contractor in microtunnelling in hard rock, pipejacking and tunnel support systems. It owns and operates its own fleet of heavy and underground construction equipment, enabling it to cover the range of diameters for the North American market.
The 60-year-old Maryland-based company operates along the east coast of the US, from Florida to Maine and from Colorado to Texas. It employs around 50 people and generates annual revenue of US$30m (€26m).
VINCI says the acquisition builds on Soletanche Bachy’s strong presence in the US where its subsidiaries Nicholson Construction, Hub Foundation, Bessac Inc and Soletanche Bachy International Inc are established.
Bradshaw will benefit from Soletanche Bachy’s technical expertise in foundations and underground work, especially its equipment design, EXEGY low-carbon materials, integrated engineering and R&D.
