The announcement was made at WTC2026 in Montreal this week after the two countries vying for the title – Austria and Finland – outlined their visions for the event.
This year the traditional dinner format was replaced with a more open and engaging approach as candidates gave live presentations in the exhibition area on Tuesday.
Next year’s World Tunnel Congress will be held in Antwerp from April 23-29. The organisers said yesterday that in response to an overwhelming interest in the event at WTC2026, the deadline for submissions for WTC2027 has been extended to June 10. No further extensions will be granted.
WTC2028 will be held in at the Marina Bay Sands Exhibition and Convention Centre in Singapore from April 21-27, 2028.
