The Implenia / Demathieu Bard Construction joint venture has completed tunnelling on Lot 3 of Toulouse Metro’s Line C.
TBM Marie-Thérèse de Villeneuve-Arifat broke through at the Saint-Sauveur shaft last week after excavating a 4km section and installing 2,198 rings beneath the city. The 10m-diameter variable density machine was launched in October 2024 from Raisin station.
Lot 3 also includes civil engineering works for the construction of four underground stations at depths of 24-39m, a ventilation shaft, and diaphragm walls up to 57m deep.
Tisséo’s Line C will stretch from Colomiers station in the north-west to Labège station in the south-east with 21 stations along the route. Around 22km of the 27km route will be underground.
On September 19, Tisséo will open five of the project’s construction sites to the public. Visitors will be able to explore the underground spaces at five stations – Blagnac; Bonnefoy; Limayrac – Cité de l’Espace; Montaudran Gare – Piste des Géants; and Labège Madron – and walk through a section of completed tunnel.
The line is scheduled to open in 2028.
