The three TBMs, each over 100m long, will be used to construct the twin 4.5km Southern Tunnels and twin 2.2km Northern Tunnels, delivering a non-stop South Road for the people of South Australia.
The components for the first TBM began arriving[https://www.tunnelsandtunnelling.com/news/first-shipment-of-t2d-tbm-arrives-in-adelaide/?cf-view] in Adelaide in October last year.
Two of the TBMs will launch from the project’s Southern Precinct in Clovelly Park, while the third is set to launch from the Central North Precinct at Richmond, making the T2D Project an Australian first for three TBMs operating at the same time.
The T2D Alliance of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia is delivering the project on behalf of the South Australian and Australian governments.
