The Mass Transit and Kowloon-Canton railway corporations, together with the Airport Authority, are backing plans for a US$1.3bn 9km road-rail link, that could include a tunnel connection, between Chek Lap Kok and Tuen Mun in north-west Hong Kong.

The three organisations have had informal talks to develop a strategy to persuade the government to commission a feasibility study into the scheme. They believe the project is cheaper than alternatives.
