The deadline for submissions for the 12th edition of the international awards is June 30. The submission requirements and selection process can be found on the ITA Tunnelling Awards website.
The awards ceremony will be held in conjunction with the CPT 20th anniversary conference in Lisbon from November 4-6.
The eight categories for this year’s awards are:
- Major Project of the Year (over €500m)
- Project of the Year (€100-500m)
- Project of the Year (up to €100m)
- Rehabilitation, Upgrading and Re-purposing Projects
- Technical Innovation of the Year
- Product / Equipment Innovation of the Year
- Elevated Thinking Underground: Shaping the Future
- Young Tunneller of the Year
Each submission will be evaluated by the international panel of judges, which brings together lexperts from across the global tunnelling community, including project owners, engineers, contractors, consultants and academics.
The judges on this year’s panel are: Felix Amberg, Switzerland; Zaw Zaw Aye, Thailand; Shou Gen Chen, China; Antonia Cornaro, Switzerland; Benoit de Rivaz, Belgium; George Demetri, UK; Rosa Diez, UK; Ross Dimmock, Finland; Conrad Felice, US; Alexandre Gomes, Australia; Roberto Gonzales, Mexico; Jean Habimana, Canada; Karl Gunnar Holter, Norway; Massimo Marotta, Singapore; Camilo Marulanda, Colombia; François Renault, France; Aida Santos Santamaria, Spain; Ron Tluczek, South Africa; and Gerhard Wehrmeyer, Germany.
The 2025 awards attracted 51 entries from 27 countries.
