The £1.2bn framework comprises 17 build-only and design-and-build packages, including segmental tunnelling, micro tunnelling, HDD, pipe ramming, pipe jacking, augur boring and shaft works.
The build-only works, where the contractor will deliver the works as principal contractor, have an estimated value of £300m, while the design-and-build works, where the contractor will be principal designer and principal contractor, have an estimated £900m value.
The utilities provider intends to call of works via mini competition or direct allocation where direct allocation allows.
The estimated contract dates are September 30, 2026 to September 29, 2038 with a possible extension to March 30, 2041.
The enquiry deadline is April 15 and the deadline for requests to participate is April 28. Severn Trent expects to make award decisions on September 30.
