TBM Viviana is one of seven TBMs that will be deployed on the Mont Cenis base tunnel. She will build the 9km north tube between Saint-Martin-la-Porte and La Praz.

The Herrenknecht TBM has a 10.4m diameter and is 180m long. It will be operated by CO 6/7, the Italian-French consortium comprising Vinci Construction, Webuild, Dodin Campenon Bernard and Campenon Bernard Centre Est.

As of August, 44.2km of excavation had been completed for the 164km-long railway line

The cross-border section of the Lyon-Turin freight and passenger railway line extends over a stretch of 65km between Susa in Piedmont and Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne in Savoy. The main feature of the work is the 57.5km-long Mont Cenis base tunnel – 12.5km in Italy and 45km in France – linking the international stations of Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne and Susa.
