The speakers from COWI UK Ltd, principal engineers Matthew Donnachie and Max Hepburn, will provide an assessment of pipe jacking opportunities, ranging from full-scale tunnel alternatives to smaller, localised interventions. The presentation will cover key considerations, constraints and opportunities, alongside a comparative evaluation of the relative merits of each proposed solution.

Donnachie led the optioneering of the alternative solutions on the Shrewsbury project, focusing on localised trenchless interventions.

Hepburn led the design development for the fully tunnelled solutions during the optioneering phase, which included both bored tunnel and pipe jacking options.

The June lecture will be held at the Institution of Civil Engineers, One Great George St, London SW1P 3AA on June 18 at 18:00 (GMT+1). It will also be streamed live.
