STRABAG UK has acquired Van Elle Holdings plc, one of the largest ground engineering contractors in the UK.
Van Elle will form a new subdivision of the business, strengthening STRABAG’s existing civil engineering and ground engineering capabilities and enhancing its ability to deliver value in both building and infrastructure projects.
Van Elle is one of the UK’s leading ground engineering and geotechnical specialists. The company employs more than 600 people and in 2025 reported revenue of £130m (€150.3m).
STRABAG says the acquisition will create opportunities in the building, water and energy sectors in particular.
The transaction was completed after a majority of Van Elle shareholders voted in favour of the proposed acquisition, enabling STRABAG UK to acquire the entire company.
