Rob Carr Pty Ltd will construct caisson access shafts and undertake 500m of microtunnelling for the new fuel line.
Early works are under way and major works will start this month.
Sydney Airport explained on LinkedIn that the work is the first step in activating the airport’s remote south-west apron bays. The tunnel will carry a new fuel line from Terminal 1 to the south-west sector.
Once complete, the fuel line will support upgrades to seven bays with in-ground fuel, pre-conditioned air and ground power.
Construction will continue until August 2026.
