Two more TBMs for Line 15 East of the Grand Paris Express have passed their Factory Acceptance Test.
Eiffage Génie Civil, together with the project owner Société des grands projets, officially accepted the two machines at Herrenknecht’s manufacturing plant in Germany.
The TBMs will be delivered to their launch site at the Val de Fontenay station worksite in September, where they will be assembled.
Early next year the first TBM will begin tunnelling towards the Champigny Centre station and the Salengro shaft. It will cover approximately 6km, passing through Nogent–Le Perreux and Champigny Centre stations.
By mid-2027, the second TBM will begin its drive towards the Rosny Bois-Perrier tunnel entrance. It will then be dismantled and transported to the Rosny operational centre, from where it will commence its second drive towards the Rosny Bois-Perrier entrance structure.
Each of the 120m-long machines will excavate a tunnel with a 9.87m diameter.
The two EPB TBMs are similar to TBM Rita, which has been in operation in Bobigny since the end of May 2026.
